American Horror Story: Freak Show (original title: American Horror Story: Freak Show) is the fourth season of the FX miniseries American Horror Story. The season opened on October 8, 2014 and ended on January 21, 2015. The plot mainly takes place in Jupiter, Florida in 1952, telling the story of one of the last monstrosity circuses still in operation. in America, and the monstrous circus's efforts to save the troupe.
This is the first season that is not completely independent of the other seasons, with Lily Rabe, Naomi Grossman, and John Cromwell reprising their roles in season 2. The cast returns to the cast after joining season three. including: Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Jamie Brewer, Frances Conroy, Grace Gummer, Danny Huston, Jessica Lange, Denis O'Hare, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, and Mare Winningham. Ben Woolf also returns for this season.
As with previous installments, The Circus was critically acclaimed and enjoyed strong ratings with its opening episode garnering a viewership of 6.13 million viewers, the highest in the series at the time. The season earned 20 Emmy nominations, with an Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries, and six acting nominations for Lange, O'Hare, Finn Wittrock, Paulson, Bassett, and Bates. In addition, Paulson won the Critics' Choice Award for Actress in a Drama Series in a Drama or Miniseries at the 5th Critics' Awards.
The fourth season focuses on the curious content of Elsa Mars, which takes place in 1952, in Jupiter, Florida.
It revolves around one of the best surviving Monster Fairs of the 1950s and the dedication of its members, who do everything to maintain their substantial livelihood. Led by Elsa Mars, the crew consisted of a bearded woman, Ethel; his son Jimmy, who owns lobster hands; of Paul, a man with ugly arms; of Suzi, a woman whose body stops at her belly; of a dwarf man, Meep; of a woman with microcephaly and her husband, Pepper and Salty; of the world's smallest woman; in contrast a woman over two meters tall, Amazon Eve; and more recently Bette and Dorothy Tattler, two-headed Siamese; Wendell Toledo, the strongest man in the world; and his three-breasted wife, Desiree Dupree.
As the army's success dwindles, Stanley tells Mister Spencer, the businessman, and Maggie Esmeralda, a fortune teller, to invite them to the armies' lands.
At the same time, a murderous clown named Twisty, whom life doesn't give, momentarily becomes an employee of the psychotic Mott family.
The craze that forms around Fräulein Elsa Mars coincides with the eerie appearance of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of the inhabitants of the city and the fairgrounds, sowing terror upon them. the small sleeping village of Jupiter.
