The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift (2006) Review

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is a 2006 theatrical film directed by Justin Lin, part 3 of The Fast and the Furious series. The film is staged in a completely different location is Tokyo, Japan with a brand new cast compared to the previous two films. Films were shot mainly in Tokyo and Los Angeles. The film uses a variety of props and lighting to create a true Tokyo style. This film does not have the presence of Paul Walker, while Vin Diesel playing the role of Dominic Toretto appears only as a guest.

Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) was involved in a street racing in Los Angeles, and a series of legal troubles in the past in the past in danger of him being detained. Therefore, his mother sent him to his father's place in Tokyo, Japan, who is a US Navy officer. During the time he met with his father in Tokyo, he was warned that if he was still vandalizing and involved in racing, his father would send him back to the US to receive a prison sentence.

Sean got to know Twinkie (Bow Wow), a black American guy, together they went to the rear end of the car. Sean has a conversation with Takashi (Brian Tee) - who is known as DK - Drift King and is also the nephew of a local Yakuza boss - when he talks to Neela (Nathalie Kelley) Takashi's girlfriend. Sean challenged Takashi and failed, which also ruined the racing car Han (Sung Kang), a business partner of Takashi. Han said Sean could not run away and had to work for Han to pay for the repair of the car.

Han becomes Sean's friend and teaches him how to drag the rear of the car. Han did this because he liked Takashi's personality because Sean showed no fear of Takashi. Neela and Sean meet each other, which makes Takashi very angry and goes to beat Sean. Angry at Takashi's actions, Neela left him to stay with Sean.

After Kamata (Sonny Chiba), Takashi's uncle, says that Takashi and Han ate his money, Takashi blames Han, Sean, and Neela for running away with Han and Takashi chasing them. In the chase, Han appears to be killed by accident (the culprit is Deckard Shaw) but in fact he never died (back in season 9). Neela is forced to follow Takashi to save Sean from being killed by Takashi. Twinkie gave Sean all his money to save, Sean used that money to go to Kamata to demand a race with Takashi. Sean created his own car with his teammates, Sean eventually won against Takashi.

At the end of the movie, King D's new car-tail Sean is challenged by an anonymous racer who is Han's friend.
