Date: 1814. The site is Edo, now Tokyo.
This is one of the most populous cities in the world, full of farmers, samurai, townspeople, merchants, nobles, artists, courtesans and other spiritual beings.
In his mid-50s, his talented actor Tetsuzo boasts of clients from all over Japan and works tirelessly in the chaos filled with the garbage of his home studio. He spends his days doing amazing craftsmanship, from the giant Bodhidharma depicted on a 180-meter-long sheet of paper to small birds painted on small grains of rice. Short, utter mockery, unwillingness to love or money, to pay for wealth for any job he does not care about.
The third of Tetsuzo's four daughters, who was born from his second marriage, is a courageous 23-year-old O-Ei who inherited his father's talent and stubbornness, and painted a great deal for them, though not glorified. His skills are so great that they sometimes cause trouble. "We're a father and a daughter; with two brushes and four pieces, I think we can always do it, somehow." Decades later, Europe discovered Tetsuzo's vast talent. He should have been well-known for his many names: Katsushika Hokusai. Aizoseya Renoir navan Gogh, Monet naKlimt.
Today, however, few know the woman who has helped him all his life and has greatly contributed to his skills while remaining unreliable. This is the unspoken story of O-Ei, the daughter of Lord Hokusai: a vivid depiction of a free-flowing woman, covered by her father-in-law-passing, life that took place in the changing of the seasons.

Fair. The story was fair. It didn't have much of a focus, but this is to be expected. It features several arcs and has a couple of characters that interact with each other. Yet there is barely any progress or character development. The characters were realistic, yet it wasn't a story. It was a series of events that happened to somebody in a chronological order with no theme or message. The only arguable theme is to stop being afraid of death, yet there was so little focus on it, it can be barely called that. Now, you can watch free online anime Miss Hokusai on xemovie.com
