12-year-old Eric Kirby is skydiving in the ocean near Isla Sorna island. A mysterious creature attacked the boat, causing Eric to fall on the island. Erik had an accident with his stepfather Ben, when his father Paul and mother Amada broke up. This contributes to helping the couple reunite, while planning to save the boy.
On land, Dr. Alan Grant became famous after his Jurassic Park adventure. Grant's assistant Billy Brennan builds a laryngeal tube that can mimic Velociraptor's cry. Despite his reputation, Alan still has difficulty funding the project. Ellie Sattler is married and has two children, but she and Grant follow up research on carnivorous dinosaurs.
Couple Paul and Amanda Kirby suggested Grant accompany them to Isla Sorna Island. Together they boarded a plane to the island of Isla Sorna. On the flight include: Grant, Billy, Paul, Amanda, Udesky's assistant, Cooper captain and pilot Nash. When they got down to the island, the Spinosaurus was eaten by Cooper and Nash. It causes the plane to crash into the forest. The group ran away to meet T. rex, they let two dinosaurs fight. The Spinosaurus kills T.rex.
Grant learned that the Kirby couple were looking for their son, Eric, who was missing on the island. The group finds an umbrella and a dead body. The party takes the parachute, and goes to the Velociraptor's nest. They entered InGen's abandoned headquarters, where Amanda was attacked by a Velociraptor. The raptor calls for the other Veciloraptors to come chase them. The party flees with the Corythosaurus and Parasaurolophus, creating a scramble run, causing Grant to flee from the group. Others climbed into the trees in time, while Udesky was captured by the raptors and torn apart.
Grant is about to be surrounded by the raptors, but little Eric saves him and takes him to hideout. The next morning, Grant and Eric reunited with Billy and the Kirby and his wife. Paul said that he gave the phone to Nash before he was eaten, before the group was attacked by Spinosaurus. Grant discovered that Billy had stolen two raptor eggs, which caused the raptors to chase them. The group accidentally entered the area of the pteranodon, it attacked them and took Eric flying away. Billy used the parachute to rescue Eric, then he himself was attacked by a flying lizard. The rest of the crew escaped in a boat.
That night, the group heard the phone ring in the Spinosaurus's dung, and they found the phone. Rain started to fall, Grant tried to call Sattler, the Spinosaurus attacked the boat. Grant created a large fire that caused the Spinosaurus to flee. The next day, the group was heading to the beach when they were surrounded by the raptors. Grant returned the two eggs to the raptors, then used his voice tube to make a fake cry to drive them away. Upon arriving at the beach, the group was picked up by the US military. They found that Billy was still alive and was medicating. Helicopters took them off the island, they saw a bunch of lizards flying, Grant said they were "looking for a new nest".
