Hobbs and Deckard pursue and rescue Hattie during a car chase, managing to escape Brixton, who falls off his motorcycle and crashes on the second level of a double-decker bus. However, Brixton frames all three as traitors through Eteon's control of the global media.
The three locate Professor Andreiko (Eddie Marsan), the creator of Snowflake, who informs them that in order to prevent Snowflake from eradicating humanity, Hattie has to, while the virus is still inactive, kill or remove the virus with an extraction device. specialized, located within the Eteon headquarters in Ukraine. After flying undercover to Moscow and meeting Deckard's girlfriend, Madame M (Eiza González), to rearm, the three infiltrate the facility. They manage to retrieve the extraction device before escaping and destroying the building, but nevertheless Andreiko is killed and the device is damaged during his escape.
Hobbs decides to take the trio to his childhood home in Samoa to visit his estranged brother Jonah (Cliff Curtis), a talented mechanic, to repair the device and stay in hiding before confronting Brixton again. Hobbs has a tense reunion with his family, but Jonah is finally persuaded to help them by his mother. The makeshift battalion prepares for Eteon's arrival, setting a variety of traps around the island. Jonah successfully repairs the device and begins extracting the virus, just as Brixton and his army arrive at dawn.
