Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days is a 2018 South Korean action-fantasy film directed by Kim Yong-hwa and based on Joo Ho-min's webtoon, Along With the Gods. It serves as a sequel to the 2017 film Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds. Starring Ha Jung-woo, Ju Ji-hoon, Kim Hyang-gi, Ma Dong-seok, and Kim Dong-wook. The film was released on August 1, 2018.
A third and fourth installment is currently in development, with Kim Yong-hwa returning to direct the sequels.
Kim Soo-hong (Kim Dong-wook), the soldier who died and was buried by two comrades in arms, will be the object of help from the three grim guardians Gang-rim (Ha Jung-woo), Haewonmak (Ju Ji-hoon) and Lee Deok-choon (Kim Hyang-gi), who will guide you as the 49th soul they need to redeem in a thousand years to get the reincarnation prize. Gang-rim's team will intercede for his case, considering that his death was unfair and that led him to be a vengeful spirit.
Yeomra (Lee Jung-jae), King of Death and Hell God of Family Cruelty, is willing to allow that claim to be proven before the courts of Hell, in exchange for the guardians taking Heo Choon to the underworld. -sam, an old man who is extending his life longer than he should thanks to the protection of a god of the home (Ma Dong-seok), who is preventing his death. This task, a priori simple, will be complicated by the condition of ex-guardian of the meddling home god, since it will be the key to bring to light some details about the forgotten past of the guardians
